The festival of Purim

Purim is a joyous festival which commemorates the deliverance of the Jewish people in the ancient Persian Empire from destruction and is recorded in the Old Testament in the book of Esther.

This play should be of interest to classes studying festivals of religions other than Christianity as well as to Jewish schools.

In 2013 the festival begins on the evening of Saturday 23rd February and ends on the evening of Sunday 24th February.
